A first post on this blog about Fortuna Estates, Fortunaland and a few other related companies owned or related to Land One Corporation. I have been driven here because I have voluminous information that I did not feel appropriate to post on http://oannaxfortunaland.multiply.com/ as it runs to about 20 pages.
That forum is useful but seems to concentrate on putting people in jail!! The members of the forum seem aggrieved that they have lost money (in common with most of the rest of the developed world). Myself I feel as foolish to have invested in this Fortuna scam (if indeed it was a scam) as to have had a few bob in Kaupthing, Singer and Friedlander in their Isle of Man bank. Getting people behind bars for a year or two, perhaps only 6 months with good conduct, wont help at all!!
Betting on Fortuna was a bit like betting on an outsider in a race. Trying to get the bookie, the owner and the trainer might be satisfying but wont get your money back

What follows is a compilation of old cached documents put on the internet by Fortuna over the last few years. Also by Oanna.

I am disappointed at the way http://oannaxfortunaland.multiply.com/ 's forum has dealt with this. Nobody has come up with a logical solution. Despite the fact that the group leader, an accountant no less, says he has spent a year "investigating" but still does not know basic facts like number of investors involved or how much has been invested. (This information is publicly available for anyone who has the energy to look for it). Perhaps he does know but is not telling! He seems to be encouraging people to commit to the expenses of attacking the enemy, but without defining who the enemy are!! It seems he only wants a biblical eye for an eye?! Leviticus 24 verse 19. The concept is also enshrined more emphatically in the Koran, which plagiarises
from the old testament ("As he has injured the other, so he is to be injured").

Anyhow this is what I have. Sorry it is messy and confused. That is just the way I have it! Enjoy!

To keep it small these are mainly in Plain Text which is why they read in a disjointed manner, I may have an HTML version if anybody wanted it, but possibly not any of their photos. Due to the serious shortage of homes, planning permission has been granted on some greenfield agricultural Land. This is self-evident from the new house building developments seen around the around the world.

One strategy of major house builders is to buy agricultural land, then wait for the right time to apply for planning permission. They can make huge gains if planning permission is granted, but they may have to sell the Land on without any profit if no planning is granted. These risks and rewards are also available to smaller investors. This paragraph is so open and honest that I feel that any invester in this kind of investment did so with his or her eyes open – caveat emptor!

With the Spanish economy the second strongest in Europe and the property boom in Spain predicted by all the experts as having at least another 5 to 10 years to run, the Costa del Sol is an ideal location for the astute investor wanting to make money in a safe environment. The increase in rural tourism in the area makes regions such as Axarquia, location 30 minutes in land from the coasts famous beaches and 40 minutes from the world famous ski resort of the Sierra Nevada, prime location, especially for the development of commercial tourism projects.

This is the Wedding Chapel Publicity Brochure! I seem to remember it was issued on the Fortuna website in greater detail and later withrawn! In the following snapshot I have removed some of the links and scripts (I do have a raw version available on request! It was the company's foresight which led Fortuna to locate their current projects in the beautiful region of Andalucia. The shortage of available building land on the coast, the increase in rural tourism and this region's stunning, unspoilt countryside has already caused land prices to increase dramatically and these prices are set to rise further as population on the coast continues to grow.

Timing for these projects could also not have been better. Spain's economy is one Europe's few bright spots. It has a growth rate four times greater than the rest of Europe and half the jobs created in the EU last year were in Spain. Spain's politically stable environment coupled with the ever improving infrastructure further enhance the country's appeal to overseas investment.

These factors have contributed towards the success of the Bella Fortuna project. This plot of stunning Andalucian countryside is over 400,000m² in size and located midway between Malaga and Granada, next to the town of Zafarraya. This project was first released to private investors in Sept 2002 at a price of €6.80m² and closed at a price of €9.20m² If the land was good the price is not outrageous (look at http://www.agrofinca.com/) they sold the full 40 hectares at an average price of, say €8,they would have netted 3.2 million. Not having a clear mental idea piece of land this size at the time I just assumed the top photo was it. Coming from a farming family I should have related this to around 10 ten acre fields. If you want to build a really posh mansion one might look for a plot of land with a frontage of 100 metres and 200 deep – that would be 5 acres On a 10 acre field one could fit about 3 or 4 (Gaelic) football fields or about 6 soccer games.. To put this further into perspective with between one and two million euro to spend, one could buy a 50 hectare farm with a refurbished house on it – or for €1,2M a 226 hectare hunk of land in a small town called Valle de Abdalajis 50 kms North of Malaga. At 50 cents a square metre that sounds like the kind of land Fortuna bought! Anyhow, having clarified in my mind that there is room for a medium sized shopping mall and parking on 400,000M2 I return you to Fortuna again! 14 months later. In Oct 2004 official planning permission for the Hotel Zafarraya complex was granted and the land was then independently valued (by whom?!) at €37.59m².

I must confess that as I read this now after a year or two has passed it seems a totally legit organization going along a defined and legal path. There is not one shred of evidence of wrong doing. The fact that the directors of this limited company might have undesirable antecedents is really neither here nor there.

As I understand it they would have been acting as some kind of agents for the Fortuna Group or Land One Group if they had acted in any way at all. They certainly never approached me. (they may have tried but for a year 2007/8 I was away from my telephone and also started to use a different email address).
